Two Malaysian men who were charged in May over an alleged attempt to fix a Malaysian Super League match involving the LionsXII seem to have gone missing.
Attempts to contact ex-football player Thanasegar S. Sinnaiah, 38, and part-time referee Shokri Nor (above), 47, over the last few days were unsuccessful, said Mr Sumit Singh, who had posted the bail for them.
The duo were originally accused of engaging in a conspiracy, with Shokri agreeing to receive RM15,000 (S$6,300) in bribes to fix the result of a match between Singapore’s LionsXII and Sarawak FA.
Mr Singh, 30, who put up bail of $50,000 each for Shokri and Thanasegar, told The New Paper yesterday that he has made a police report about the two missing men.
