Judges may have more say on who will be hanged

July 10, 2012 - 2:02am

Changes to the death penalty were proposed in Parliament yesterday that will see judges being given more say in deciding who will be hanged.

This is a major shift from the current situation where the discretion lies only with the Attorney-General’s Chambers, which decides how the charges will be framed at the time of prosecution.

The death penalty must stay. Hope the Govt will not be pressurised by western countries and so called human right groups. Let these human right groups go to North korea, middle east countries , where there are no bloody rights at all!
