Kadir Yahaya tells Ali Kasim that there has been a positive push over the last couple of months for our youngsters to go abroad to improve their skills and get a taste of the professional football life.

The former LionsXII assistant coach is happy that the Football Association of Singapore has arranged for Lion City Cup starlet Adam Swandi to join the football academy of French third-tier club FC Metz. He was followed by Bryan Neubronner, who signed an 18-month professional contract with fourth-tier German team SSV Ulm.

This week, local football legend Fandi Ahmad announced that his two boys, Irfan and Ikhsan, will join the academy of Spanish second-tier side Hercules for three months. Amer Nazri and Amirul Azmi, two more boys from the National Football Academy, will leave today to train at Ajax Amsterdam for two weeks.

Kadir says this is promising for Singapore football.
