Kadir Yahaya: Sundram told me we can be dream team again

THIS reunion of the 1993 Lions Dream Team, in the form of LionsXII coaching duo V Sundramoorthy and Kadir Yahaya, almost didn't happen.

LionsXII assistant coach Kadir, 43, admitted to The New Paper yesterday: "I wasn't keen to come on board at first, because I am currently doing some football research on my own during the day and I didn't feel confident that I can give my best."

But 46-year-old head coach Sundram, who was also his roommate during the Malaysia Cup days, took great pains to convince Kadir otherwise.

Kadir said: "He told me we have the experience of playing in the Malaysia Cup, so we must pass this on to this new generation."
