Six-year-old Bryan Liu, Singapore's youngest recipient of an altruistic donor kidney, is so delighted that he can urinate after not being able to do so for three years that he laughs each time he "goes".
And he has been drinking 10 times more water than he used to, said his mother, Madam Serene Ng, 38.
She is grateful to donor Lin Dilun, 27, whose face she finally saw after The New Paper on Sunday published an exclusive interview with him.
Meanwhile, Mr Lin's mother thought her son was crazy when he told her what he wanted to do.
But seeing his determination, she stood by him all the way, accompanying him on his many trips to the hospital.
While Mr Lin's good deed moved many people, those polled said they would not be brave enough to do the same, despite the long waiting list for kidney transplants in Singapore.
