Korean wave descends on Tanjong Pagar

Riding the Hallyu (Korean pop culture wave) in Singapore, a part of Tanjong Pagar has developed into a Little Korea of sorts.

In the last few years, as many as 15 Korean eateries and bars have sprung up in a 300m stretch of Tanjong Pagar Road near Duxton Hill.

Wedding boutiques in the area are also following the trend and several offer Korean-themed wedding photo shoots or shoots in Korea..

But some Korean restaurant operators say they are feeling the heat as stiff competition has hurt their business.
