Lifesaver Thomas Thong recalls Meyer Park swimming accident

HE NEVER went through lifeguard training.

But Mr Thomas Thong's instinct was to jump in the pool - clad in business attire - to save 17-year-old Chow Sze Yeung from drowning.

The incident adds to a list of swimming pool accidents over the past two years.

Since the incident, Sze Yeung's mother, Mdm Catherine Toh, 54, had been trying to contact Mr Thong to personally thank him for saving her son's life.

Yesterday, with the help of TNP, she finally had that opportunity.
