At long last, back in the M'sia Cup

Singapore is back in the Malaysia Cup after 17 years.

Yesterday, the Singaporean and Malaysian football authorities signed a memorandum of understanding that will see both countries send a team across the Causeway to compete in their respective leagues and cup tournaments.

Veteran 'Dream Team' players The New Paper spoke to were excited about the news, saying it would help elevate the standard of local football.

Die-hard fans who used to take trips up to Malaysia to watch the Lions play are already planning to do so again next year, when the agreement takes effect.
