HE SENSED something was awry when his maid didn't fetch his elder daughter from school.

So John (not his real name), a 45-year-old project manager, rushed home - only to be greeted by the horrific sight of his younger daughter, 7, lying in a pool of blood with her head on his maid's lap with a chopper nearby.

Without a word, John snatched his little girl from the floor punched the maid twice in the face before rushing to find her medical help. She survived.

Yesterday, the 26-year-old Indonesian maid, who was suffering from a delusional disorder at the time of the attack, was sentenced to eight years' jail for one count of attempted culpable homicide.
