Making Madonna LOUD and clear

When polytechnic student Ryan Martin (above), 18, and music teacher Chris Lesslar, 39, read about The New Paper’s LOUD Cover Contest that was launched earlier this month with the music pullout LOUD every Tuesday, they had one thought in common: Just go for it.

Mr Martin did Madonna’s Hung Up and Mr Lesslar covered the US singer's Crazy For You for the ongoing contest, where participants can upload a video cover of LOUD’s monthly featured artist and stand a chance to win Monster and Gibson merchandise. Madonna is this month's artiste.

Said Mr Lesslar: "My wife’s a big fan of Madonna and I did Crazy For You because she fancies that song.”

Mr Martin said that he did Hung Up because it was the first Madonna song he had listened to.
