'The Malaysians started it, not us'

Singapore and LionsXII fan Sulastre Hamzah, who attended Friday’s match between Singapore and Malaysia at the Jalan Besar Stadium with her eight-year-old daughter, said the "street fight" which broke out on Horne Road was instigated by Malaysian fans, not the Singapore contingent.

She added that "no vulgarities" were hurled by the Singaporean man, previously accused by eye-witnesses to have incited the fight.

A video of the incident, taken by another Singapore fan, has been uploaded on YouTube and details the incident before the fight.
