'Mama is ready to let you go'

HER son loved her home-cooked prawn mee dearly.

And even though cancer had racked Bellamy Tan’s body so much that he was unlikely to have been able to eat the dish, his mother, Mrs Justina Tan, 42, planned to cook it on Tuesday – the day he was meant to come home from the hospital.

But Bellamy, 15, died that morning, after battling cancer for 2½ years.

We caught up with the parents of the brave teen at his wake at Upper Serangoon View. Bellamy's parents spoke about how their son had profoundly changed their lives.


Heart breaking

Suggestion to our MOH ... gather a pool of specialist, private and public, to render subsidized health services to all cancer victims. Same proposal to other life threatening illness. 

I'm certain not every specialists are money-faced.
