THIS Chinese New Year season, don't be too surprised if your male relatives arrive at your home dressed to the nines in their best threads and heels.

Yes, heels. As in "high heels".

Citizen journalism website Stomp! recently carried pictures of a male polytechnic student wearing heels around campus.

According to retailers The New Paper spoke to, they have been seeing growth in the number of men buying heels, or more accurately, meels (man-heels), since the seminal moment in 2009 when cult fashion designers Rick Owens and Rad Hourani sent male models down the runways in heels and wedges.
