Man tries to jump from 15th storey after allegedly slashing wife

An air steward allegedly stabbed his wife in her abdomen before he attempted to jump off a parapet outside his home.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon at a five-room unit on the 15th storey of an HDB block in Sengkang.

Witnesses told Chinese-language evening daily Lianhe Wanbao that the man’s Indonesian maid held on to her employer’s waist and stopped him from falling over.

A neighbour said the man’s mother and another man, believed to be a friend, also held on to him from each side until the police arrived.
