From personal family portraits to photos of national events, the Big Picture contest received more than 4,500 entries that together showcase everyday life in Singapore.
From National Day last year, Singaporeans and permanent residents were encouraged to send in photos based on fortnightly themes for this contest, run by The New Paper and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (Mica).
Now, after the contest's strong showing, discussions are underway to continue the contest for a second year .
A Mica spokesman said they were encouraged by the "good participation and excellent photographs".
