Implementing a minimum wage and "socialising" childcare were some of the out-of-the-box ideas from MPs in Parliament on Wednesday.
Ang Mo Kio GRC MP Inderjit Singh suggested a minimum wage of $1,500 so that Singaporeans would be attracted to work in industries such as construction, security and cleaning.
Sembawang GRC MP Vikram Nair suggested heavily subsidising the cost of childcare, similar to primary and secondary school fees.
