WHEN the MRT train services failed on Dec 15 last year, bus bridging services provided by SMRT were supposed to fill the gap in service.

But the SMRT Committee of Inquiry on Friday (April 27) heard from SMRT staff that the bridging services that night were erratic.

The bus bridging services were activated at around 8pm, an hour after the disruptions began, and at one station, the buses arrived only at 9pm.

Yes, this is true that bridging bus services will surely fill the gap, but for this it is essential to fill gap and come with more bus services.
