The National Day Parade committee wants to capitalise on the trend of more Singaporeans using mobile phones.

As one of the build-ups to this year’s National Day celebrations, the committee has introduced InstagramSG, a photo competition for Singaporeans to express their love for the nation with a picture, based on different themes.

Instagram is a free photo-sharing programme that allows users to take a photo, edit it and then share it on a social networking service.

The competition, held in collaboration with Singapore Instagram, started in March and ends in July.

Prizes include National Day Parade preview tickets, Huawei computer tablets and $100 shopping vouchers.
