My nine days of living hell

“JUST let me die,” that was the desperate plea of the Bangladeshi cleaner trapped in a container that was shipped here.

For nine days, Mr Din Islam, 30, and his friend Mr Alamgir, who was in his 30s, were deprived of food and water in a container that felt like a furnace by day and a freezer by night.

Then, Mr Alamgir suddenly dropped dead.

Mr Din spoke with The New Paper yesterday after his discharge from hospital.
