A DOZEN seniors from the Mei Ling Senior Activity Centre became stars for a day when they performed songs that no one could hear.

Instead of stretching their vocal cords, the seniors from the centre were using sign language to "sing" two songs during a charity concert at the Shell House on Clemenceau Avenue on Tuesday.

The concert was held to raise money for The New Paper's Project Helping Hands campaign.

Nine acts, including staff from Shell Singapore, took to the stage while six finalists from TNP's New Face 2011 were present to support the concert.
