No hazardous materials found after SCDF search

At first, it looked like a bus had broken down by the side of Bishan Road yesterday.

But it soon became the site of some evening drama for residents around the area as it was cordoned off and searched.

Police received a phone call about a suspicious object found on a bus and alerted the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Wearing hazardous material (hazmat) suits, the SCDF officers conducted tests using hazmat detectors. Their detectors, said the police, registered negative readings for hazardous substances.
