Officials deny deathbed reports about Zimbabwean president

Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe (above) is reportedly in Singapore to oversee his daughter Bona’s enrolment into a post-graduate course at a local university.

But the 88-year-old’s visit here has sparked speculation that he is here for medical treatment and that he could be on his deathbed.

Zimbabwean officials, however, have dismissed such talk, with the country's Information Minister Webster Shamu saying it is "hogwash".
