Over more than 24 hours on Thursday and Friday, 16 men took part in the selection test to join the Singapore Civil Defence Force Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Dart) Specialist Course. Dart is made up of individuals who undertake the most difficult search and rescue operations.

 By the end of the test, just eight men remained. They had to crawl through confined spaces, endure extreme heat and smoke, break through walls and cover long distances carrying weights.
