Three pieces of metal cladding fell from the roof of the 30-storey Prudential Towers at Cecil Street yesterday evening, hitting a BMW and taxi parked in the vicinity.
The drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the cab escaped unhurt, scampering to safety.
A cladding is a cover typically found on building exteriors. The metal pieces fell about 10m apart, with the longest piece measuring about 1.2m.
