Pay GST for zi char?

WHEN dining out at a fancy restaurant, most people wouldn't bat an eyelid when it comes to the 7 per cent goods and services tax (GST).

But what about paying the tax for fried rice from a coffee shop?

The New Paper has learnt that one popular zi char stall in Jurong West Street 91, 7th Mile Seafood, has started charging its customers GST.

Why would it do so?
