Psychiatrist suspended for three years over 13-year-affair with patient

She was his patient, and he was her psychiatrist treating her for trauma she suffered when she was sexually assaulted.

But their doctor-patient relationship turned into a 13-year affair.

Dr Douglas Kong Sim Guan (above), 63, was yesterday suspended for three years from June 24 and fined $10,000 by the Singapore Medical Council, the regulatory body overseeing all doctors here. He was also ordered to pay the cost of the proceedings.

The case arose from a complaint by his patient more than two years ago.

Dr Kong claimed their relationship started after she stopped being his patient and that she had seduced him.

he must be in this psychiatrist field for too long that he is now having mental disorder.  Such an old fella got no brains ah ???  It takes two to clap.
