PUSSYCAT Doll Nicole Scherzinger is set to host the U.S version of "The X-Factor", a British television singing competition that is much likened to "American Idol".
Scherzinger, 32, will co-host the contest with British TV presenter Steve Jones.
Jones, 34, a former fashion model, adds to a strong British flavour already present in the series which is set to premiere in September. His television stints include hosting the popular music series "T4 Music" and the BBC celebrity panel quiz show, "As Seen on TV".
Simon Cowell, who created the imported programme, had earlier announced that Cheryl Cole and L.A. Reid will form two of the three on the judges panel during its inaugural season.
Still missing on the show's line-up is the third and final judge. It is widely speculated that Paula Abdul would fill the spot, but there was no official word on whether former "American Idol" judge had signed up.
Abdul, who co-judged with Cowell on Idol, was earlier reported to be in final talks to join her old friend to take the job.
The winner of "The X-Factor" will earn a whopping $5 million prize and a recording contract.
