Putra gets pro contract

Ahmad Hakimputra has become only the fourth Singaporean to sign a professional contract with a European club, after Fandi Ahmad, V Sundramoorthy and Daniel Bennett.

Hakimputra (above, right), or Putra, as he prefers to be known, signed a one-year deal with Hungarian Division One side Kaposvari Rakoczi FC two weeks ago.

He arrived at the club in February, after spending a year at the Genova International School of Soccer (GISS) in Vicenza, Italy.

Then, he had signed a youth contract and played for Kaposvari’s reserve team in division three.
