Rain-soaked football game shot wins $500 prize

As he ran home in the rain, Mr Lim Weixiang saw a group of boys playing football in the rain.

It struck him as the perfect example of this week’s The Big Picture contest theme “Kampung Spirit”.

So the 30-year-old junior college tutor stood in the rain for 15 minutes, taking photos of the boys. and one of the shots won him the $500 prize for the contest, organised by The New Paper and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts to encourage Singaporeans to document everyday life in the city.
