Funny how a competition which only recently was disregarded by many clubs is being talked about now as a potential lifesaver for Liverpool.

After yesterday morning’s (Singapore time) penalty-shootout victory over Championship side Cardiff City, they talk about the win as a launchpad for bigger things.
