AGAINST the backdrop of a war of words between the Manchester United manager and a former skipper, the Red Devils quite nonchalantly moved up a gear.

Roy Keane remains adamant United got what they deserved in the Champions League – elimination.

Sir Alex Ferguson brushed his comments away by questioning Keane’s managerial credibility.

But the talking, as always in football, must be left to the feet.

And United, spearheaded by a rejuvenated Wayne Rooney, answered their many critics in the best possible way, with a 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road yesterday.
