NO ONE knew he had died for a week.

The man identified as Mr Henry Ng, a former PUB employee in his 60s, had lived alone in his upper-storey unit of a double-storey house in Lorong Aruan, Newton and kept to himself so much that his neighbours hardly knew him.

It was only when his body had reached such an advanced stage of decomposition that a pungent reddish-brown fluid seeped through cracks on the floor to the unit below before the police were called in to investigate.
