SINGAPORE soldiers got to sample a beach invasion in military exercise conducted at Pulau Sudong - an offshore island 10km south of the mainland - yesterday.

Elements from all three branches of the Singapore Armed Forces were involved in the simulated recapturing of an air strip on the island.

The SAF Readiness Exercise was witnessed by Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen.
