When she first heard that her four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer, Ms Cynthia Lim’s reaction towards chemotherapy was a straight “no”.

However, the 32-year-old, who was initially in a state of shock and denial, eventually came around to the idea that her child needed to undergo the treatment.

Last week, alternative treatment for cancer made the news when a 31-year-old mother rejected chemotherapy for her leukemia-stricken three-year-old son.
