COULD a Japanese pop idol as pretty as Aimi Eguchi (above) be for real?

As it turns out, the latest addition to the popular J-pop girl band AKB48 is just a virtual construct made as a publicity stunt for confectionary company Ezaki Glico, leaving fans shocked when the news broke last week.

The 16-year-old's picture-perfect face is actually an amalgamation of features from six of the 61-member band's prettiest girls.
