The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has been paying for the accommodation of some foreign workers here, and this has raised some eyebrows.

Why use taxpayers' money this way, some ask?

But the ministry told The New Paper that it requires foreigners who are key witnesses - usually in cases of employment-related offences - to be present in Singapore.

Non-government organisations that help migrant workers feel that paying their accommodation is fair, as these foreigners have nowhere else to stay. But not everyone agrees.

Spending Singaporeans' tax money on foreigners to be witnesses so that some Singaporeans will charged, sentence to jail or fined??

Singaporeans are very selfish !

Foreign workers are the ones who can & willing to do dirty jobs for us !

Unlike singaporeans  whether young, not so young & elderly able-bodied people, will  they wanna take up such filthy & strenous job ????!!!!

Providing them with clean place over their roof is the basic thing we must do for them, they are humans after all !
