THESE foreign workers gather, eat and pray at a makeshift “church” under a bridge at Kallang River.
"Every Saturday and Sunday evening, we come here to listen to the ‘pastor’”, said Ms Nana, a 38-year-old cleaner from Thailand.
“Pastor” is Mr Jatuporn, a construction worker in his 40s.
The Christian group, which has up to 10 members, could not afford to rent a gathering place, so they turned to the river. In this space, they meet their fellow Thai countrymen and speak in their native tongue.
