S'porean, 50, dies in Batam

A Singaporean man died in Batam on Sunday morning after taking a woman back to his hotel room.

Mr Lee Chin Chuan, 50, who had rented a room at the Newton Hotel and Spa on the Indonesian island is said to have downed two cans of beer shortly before his death.

Speaking to The New Paper yesterday, head of the Lubuk Baja police station in Nagoya, First Police Inspector Hendrianto said that Mr Lee then went into convulsions and was sent to the nearby Budi Kemuliaan hospital.

Mr Lee was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital at around 2am.
