Cyber wellness should start from the moment a child handles mobile devices like smartphones, even if his is only one or two years old.
Ms Low Yen Ling (Chua Chu Kang GRC) spoke in Parliament yesterday on the need to educate parents of pre-schoolers on managing the use of smart devices and Internet exposure.
Cyber wellness consultants and counsellors agree, saying that those who spend too much time on gaming and social media are getting younger and younger as parents use technology to “nanny their kids”.
Excessive gaming easily leads to aggression and cyber-bullying, which is worse than physical bullying because the effect is unseen.
