A 21-year-old Singaporean man who allegedly robbed an iPhone was arrested on the morning of 22 Aug at Kaki Bukit.
The suspect was charged today.
On 30 Jul, a 19-year-old woman was watching a video on her iPhone at the void deck of Block 57 Geylang Bahru when the man, who works in a moving company, crept up behind her and snatched the phone valued at $800 and ran off.
The man was seen running towards the direction of Block 60 Geylang Bahru.
After investigating the case, officers from Central Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and subsequently, on 22 August, the police tracked him down at his workplace and arrested him.
If convicted, the offender can be jailed for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and is also be liable to be caned.
