The Tan who lost helped him to win

HE DIDN'T feel ready to start shooting photos of the General Election in May because he had just gotten his first digital SLR a few weeks before.

So when the Presidential Election came around this month, Mr Alvin Leow decided to go out and take some photos.

While the 40-year-old had trouble finding good photo opportunities - until Dr Tan Cheng Bock held his rally at the Singapore Expo.

Mr Leow waited for the right moment before snapping the winning photo - a side profile of the presidential candidate gesturing in sync with his sign-language interpreter against the backdrop of a palm tree - Dr Tan's campaign symbol.
