HE thought he was mixing with the in-crowd when he agreed to play poker with his classmates.

After all, the stakes seemed small enough at 10 cents and 20 cents.

After just three month he had lost $1,300 and failed his O Levels. When he couldn't pay his losses, he signed an IOU with a classmate which involved interests and other terms.
