All outstanding tenders that involved former Commissioner of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Peter Benedict Lim Sin Pang (above), and the people allegedly involved in the case have been suspended.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), responding to queries from The New Paper, said it acted immediately once it knew he was under investigation by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.
An MHA spokesman said it is reviewing two contracts that SCDF signed with the companies when Peter Lim was directly involved in the tender process as a member of the tender approval committee.
Lim, 52, was taken to court on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in a sex-for-business corruption case.
He is accused of 10 charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act and is now out on a police bail of $10,000.
