Thai Teen who lost her legs heading home

SINCE her tragic day on Apr 3 in which she lost both her legs in an MRT accident, Nitcharee Peneakchanasak has not left the hospital.

Yesterday afternoon, giggling away, the teenager was discovering how to “walk” again. She had been working the joystick of a motorised wheelchair donated by the Rotary Club of Singapore.

On Monday, she will be heading home to Thailand.

Said Nitcharee: “I am not leaving Singapore with bad memories, especially after what has happened to me. I think I have more fond memories of Singapore than anything else.”
