HIS LATE father told him many tales, but Mr Rajendran Manickam won't easily forget one of them.
It is the story about how Tanjong Pagar railway station, which was built during the Japanese Occupation.
Then, his father, Mr A.N. Manickam, was among the army of forced labour who built and maintained the railway tracks near the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) railway depot and warehouse.
Now, almost 70 years later, Mr Rajendren stands where his father once stood, in an ironic twist of fate, to help tear down what his father had built.
