On Wednesday, police received a call about some men behaving suspiciously at a residential estate off Upper Serangoon Road.
Officers eventually nabbed four men and managed to recover more than $300,000 worth of stolen valuables, including jewellery, gold bars and cash.
In terms of the amount recovered, this is one of the largest housebreaking cases cracked by the police in recent years.
The four suspects, all Colombian nationals, were charged yesterday with housebreaking by night. The offence carries a jail term of up to 14 years.
