Madam Katijah (above), 78, once had big dreams for her 11 children.
But one son is dead and six of her remaining eight sons, whose ages range from their 30s to their 50s, are in prison. Her two daughters are married and one lives overseas.
On Tuesday, her eldest son, 57, a security guard (above, in pink), got into trouble with the law and was arrested after wielding a parang in a drunken stupor in Toa Payoh.
Said Madam Katijah in Malay: “Sometimes, I wonder how things turned out this way. With eight boys, I thought I would live an easy life. But they don’t even live at home. They live in jail."
