That Kate Spade bag – in the picture that defined Ms Tin Pei Ling at the 2011 General Election (GE) – is now up for grabs at the right price.
The MP for Marine Parade GRC is donating it to help raise money for the Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) Support Services.
She said: “Since it had received so much publicity...I felt that it can be put to good use."
Ms Tin was criticised when a picture of her posing with a Kate Spade box surfaced online last year. The cost of a Kate Spade bag ranges from about $530 to $1,900.
Meanwhile, club membership broker Fion Phua, who offered to exchange her designer bags for bags of rice for the needy, has been contacted by hundreds of people. Some have offered rice for nothing in return. The New Paper wrote about her project on Aug 10.
