A FILIPINO man ended up spending more than $2,000 at a shop in Sim Lim Square last month - for an iPad 2 that costs $900.
Client support executive Nicholas Frias was hoping to get his hands on a 64GB model with Wi-Fi when he came to Singapore on June 20.
After struggling to find it, Mr Frias found himself at Sim Lim Square on June 25, where he was delighted to find Mobile Evolution LLP selling the in-demand gadget at $890, before taxes.
However, the 23-year-old ended up forking out a total of $2,106 for the iPad, resulting in him making a complaint to the Singapore Tourism Board.
