Two ‘fighting women’ end up in S’pore river

HE was a Singapore River Cruise employee on night duty, watching over the moored cruiseboats.

But Mr Ma Qiang (above), 25, a boat repairman, ended up getting caught in the drama as the Singapore Civil Defence Force rescued three people – two women and a man – who were in the Singapore River, at about 6.30am on Sunday.

The New Paper understands that the two Singaporean women had been involved in a dispute earlier. One fell in and the other jumped in to try and save her.

The man is understood to have been a passer-by who jumped in to help.
